Sabres get Connolly back, look to keep rolling

BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- The Buffalo Sabres have started to get rolling lately, and they should only be getting better with the return of Tim Connolly.

After missing 13 games due to bone spurs, Connolly has been activated from injured reserve and is set for a comeback when the Sabres host the Florida Panthers on Sunday.

The 26-year-old Connolly has five goals and 24 assists in 34 contests this season.

Buffalo responded nicely from an awful stretch when it lost 12 of 13 contests from December 26-January 21. The club has gone on to post a 5-0-2 record over its last seven games and has moved to within three points of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.

In their most recent meeting with the Panthers, Ryan Miller made 32 saves en route to his second shutout of the season in the Sabres' 1-0 triumph on January 30.

The Panthers are coming off a 6-3 victory over the Boston Bruins on Saturday.

Captain Olli Jokinen and Nathan Horton scored 14 seconds apart in the second period to help Florida take the lead for good.
