Sabres place D Bogosian on IR

Oct 15, 2017 - 2:02 PM The Buffalo Sabres placed defenseman Zach Bogosian on injured reserve Sunday with a lower-body injury.

Bogosian, 27, had been limited in practice since being injured in the Sabres' final preseason game. In 56 games last season, he recorded 11 points (two goals, nine goals) in 56 games.

In a corresponding move, the Sabres recalled forward Justin Bailey from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

Bailey, 22, currently leads Rochester with two goals and is tied for the team lead with a plus-2 rating through three games in 2017-18. Last season, the Williamsville, N.Y., native ranked third among Rochester skaters with 23 goals and finished the campaign with 36 points in 52 AHL contests.

The 6-foot-4, 214-pound Bailey was Buffalo's second-round pick (52nd overall) in the 2013 NHL draft. He has two goals and two assists in 40 career NHL games for the Sabres during the last two seasons.
