Islanders look to end skid vs. Flyers

UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers have lost three games in a row and are falling behind in the Atlantic Division race. The New York Islanders would love to be in that position.

The Islanders hope to snap a seven-game losing streak when they host the Flyers on Tuesday night in a battle of division rivals.

New York is just 4-9-5 since the turn of the calendar, falling into last place in the division and a tie for 13th in the Eastern Conference.

Mike Comrie, who leads the club with 41 points, had two assists in the Islanders' 4-3 overtime loss to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. Comrie, however, has a team-worst minus-17 rating this season.

Philadelphia looks to avoid a fourth straight loss as it hopes to remain unbeaten against the rival Islanders this season. In all three previous meetings on the campaign, the Flyers have been victorious.

R.J. Umberger had two goals Sunday but Philadelphia still suffered a 4-3 loss to the division-leading Pittsburgh Penguins. Umberger has 11 goals and 38 points this campaign.
