Blues look to end four-game slide vs. Kings
Feb 12, 2008 - 3:14 PM Los Angeles (24-31-3) at St Louis (24-22-8) 8:30 pm ESTST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Kings have spent the majority of the season at the bottom the Western Conference standings. If the St. Louis Blues aren't careful, they may be joining the Kings pretty soon.
Paul Kariya hopes to help the Blues snap a four-game losing streak when they host the Kings on Tuesday night.
St. Louis has lost 11 of its last 13 games and has fallen to 12th place in the West, just five points in front of the suddenly surging Kings.
Kariya, who has 14 goals and a team-leading 48 points this season, scored the Blues' lone goal in Sunday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild.
Los Angeles, on the other hand, has appeared to turn a corner. The club has posted a 9-4-1 record over its last 14 games after a miserable start to the season.
Goaltender Dan Cloutier, who made his first start in over a year, record his first win since December 9, 2006 in Sunday's 3-2 shootout triumph over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Patrick O'Sullivan scored the decisive goal in the shootout and Anze Kopitar netted a pair of tallies in regulation for the Kings.
Los Angeles defenseman Rob Blake has missed the past five games with an ankle injury.
