Blues activate F Steen from IR

Oct 18, 2017 - 4:48 PM The St. Louis Blues activated forward Alexander Steen from injured reserve ahead of Wednesday night's game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Steen, 33, returned to practice Monday after missing the last seven games of the preseason and the first six games of the regular season with a broken left hand. He suffered the injury on Sept. 19.

The 6-foot, 211-pound Steen is in his 10th season with the Blues after being acquired via trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Nov. 24, 2008.

Steen recorded 51 points (16 goals, 35 assists) in 76 regular-season games with the Blues in 2016-17. The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native also appeared in 10 postseason games, tallying three goals and four assists.

For his career, Steen owns 532 points (213 goals, 319 assists) in 822 regular-season games over 12 NHL seasons with the Maple Leafs and Blues. He has appeared in 569 regular-season games with the Blues, posting 406 points (163 goals, 243 assists).

In a corresponding move, the Blues placed forward Wade Megan on waivers.

Megan, 27, played in one game for the Blues this season with 8:21 time on ice. He skated in three games last season with one goal.
