Thrashers return home to face Bruins

Nov 6, 2006 - 5:08 PM Boston (4-5-2) at Atlanta (10-3-3) 7:00 pm EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Thrashers have already proven they can win on the road.

The Thrashers, who have won their last three games away from home, return to the Philips Arena to host the Boston Bruins on Monday.

Atlanta recorded an impressive 4-1 road victory over the New York Islanders on Saturday. Marian Hossa had a goal and an assist while goaltender Johan Hedberg stopped 22 shots.

The Bruins will try for their second straight victory after a wild come-from-behind victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.

Boston trailed, 5-4, in the final minute of the third period but got a huge power-play goal from defenseman Zdeno Chara with 47 seconds left to forced extra time. Glen Murray scored the game-winning goal just 17 seconds into overtime.

Marc Savard, who assisted on both late goals, finished with five points, including two goals.

Goaltender Hannu Toivonen started for the Bruins but was removed after stopping giving up five goals on 21 shots. His replacement, Tim Thomas stopped all seven shots he faced.
