Bruins try to continue road success

TORONTO (Ticker) - On the road is exactly where the Boston Bruins want to be right now.

The Bruins continue a five-game road trip on Saturday when they visit the dismal Toronto Maple Leafs.

Boston is 15-11-2 away from TD Banknorth Garden this season and has won three straight games on the road, including a 2-1 victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday.

Rookies Petteri Nokelainen and Vladimir Sobotka scored just two minutes apart midway through the first period against the Penguins and Tim Thomas made 20 saves to preserve the victory.

Sobotka's tally was his first career NHL goal and helped fill the offensive void left by the Bruins leading goal scorer, Chuck Kobasew, who missed the game with a back injury he suffered against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday.

The Maple Leafs try to snap a two-game losing streak on Saturday after suffering a 5-4 setback to the New York Islanders on Thursday.

Toronto, which is currently in last place in the Eastern Conference, is just 3-5-1 in its last nine games.
