Maple Leafs try to ride momentum into matchup with Flyers

TORONTO (Ticker) -- Two days after beating the league's best team, the Toronto Maple Leafs will take on one of the worst.

The Maple Leafs look to ride the momentum from one of their biggest wins of the young season into Monday when they skate with the struggling Philadelphia Flyers.

Toronto has won four of its last five games, including an impressive 4-1 triumph over Buffalo on Saturday. It was the first regulation loss of the season for the Sabres, who lead the league with a 12-1-1 record.

Captain Mats Sundin scored twice for the Maple Leafs and Darcy Tucker and Jeff O'Neill also tallied. Andrew Raycroft made 29 saves to improve to 7-4-2 on the season.

Things are not going nearly as well for the Flyers, who have lost three of their last four games and 10 of 13 this season. They are just 7-for-80 with the power play - the second-worst mark in the league - and have surrendered five goals on five separate occasions.

The most recent example of Philadelphia's struggles came Saturday, when the team absorbed a 5-3 setback vs. Washington. Simon Gagne, Geoff Sanderson and R.J. Umberger scored for the Flyers, who had not lost in their last 16 home meetings with the Capitals.
