Senators face Maple Leafs looking to regain top spot in East

OTTAWA (Ticker) -- The Ottawa Senators face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday having been supplanted as the top team in the Eastern Conference.

The Senators, 4-4-2 in their last 10 games, have been passed by the New Jersey Devils in the race for the No. 1 spot. Ottawa is coming off a 4-3 overtime victory at Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Senators left wing Dany Heatley has three goals and three assists against Toronto this season. Right wing Daniel Alfredsson has four goals against the Maple Leafs.

The Maple Leafs have won three of their last four games, including a 3-1 home victory over Atlanta on Saturday. Toronto is seven points behind eighth-place Buffalo in the race for an Eastern Conference playoff spot.

Monday's game will be the sixth of eight between the two teams. The Senators won the first three contests before the Maple Leafs won the last two.

Toronto center Nik Antropov has three goals and an assist against Ottawa, which began the season with 16 victories in 19 games.
