Stars look to bounce back vs. Flames

Nov 7, 2006 - 3:10 PM Dallas (11-3-0) at Calgary (4-7-2) 10:00 pm EST

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) - The Dallas Stars look to bounce back from a rare setback Tuesday when they visit the Calgary Flames.

Dallas lost at Vancouver on Monday, 2-1, when the Canucks tallied with 45 seconds remaining.

Eric Lindros scored the lone goal and Mike Smith finished with 24 saves for the Stars, who had won 14 of the last 21 meetings with Vancouver.

The Flames fared much better in their last contest. Jarome Iginla scored the game-winning goal late in the third period to lift the Flames to a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues.

Iginla's goal came on the power play at 15:33 of the third period. He picked up a loose puck by the boards, outworked two St. Louis defenders and blasted a shot from the slot that went over Manny Legace's shoulder.

Matthew Lombardi and Byron Ritchie scored the other tallies for Calgary, which snapped a four-game losing streak.

The Stars won three of the four meetings between the teams in 2005-06 and have taken seven of the last eight.
