Penguins recall D Czuczman

Dec 9, 2017 - 3:51 PM The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled defenseman Kevin Czuczman from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League on Saturday.

Czuczman, 26, leads all Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defensemen with 14 points (one goal, 13 assists) in 22 games this season.

The 6-foot-2, 206-pound product of Port Elgin, Ontario, joined the Penguins' organization this summer after setting AHL career highs with nine goals, 23 assists and 32 points in 76 games with the Manitoba Moose last year.

The left-handed-shooting Czuczman made his NHL debut with the New York Islanders in 2013-14, picking up two assists in 13 games. Prior to joining Manitoba, Czuczman skated for two years with the Islanders' farm club, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, where he appeared in 124 games and had 22 points (five goals, 17 assists).

The Penguins also reassigned defenseman Frank Corrado to their AHL affiliate. He skated in three games with the Penguins, averaging 11:06 time on ice.
