Canucks look to continue home dominance of Blue Jackets

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have never made the NHL playoffs. A win against the Vancouver Canucks on Friday will increase their chances at a postseason berth.

The Blue Jackets are currently five points out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference, while the Canucks sit in seventh place. Vancouver's total of 73 points is just one better than Colorado and Nashville.

The Canucks have dominated Columbus at home, posting a 10-2-1 all-time record. Vancouver had a season-high four-game winning streak come to an end Wednesday with a 3-2 home shootout loss to the Avalanche.

Vancouver has beaten the Blue Jackets in two of three games this season. Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo is 5-3-2 with a 1.78 goals-against average versus Columbus, but has lost three of his last four starts against the Blue Jackets.

Columbus is coming off a 4-2 home loss to San Jose on Wednesday in the first game since trading captain Adam Foote and veteran Sergei Fedorov.
