Canucks hope to get back on track vs. Blackhawks

CHICAGO (Ticker) - The Vancouver Canucks have registered at least one point in eight straight games but will look to avoid a three-game losing streak when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

Eight of the Canucks' 12 games this month have gone beyond regulation and they have lost their last two contests in that fashion. Vancouver has posted a 6-1-5 record during February.

Just two days after falling to the Colorado Avalanche in a shootout, the Canucks suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday despite carrying a two-goal lead into the third period.

Both Daniel and Henrik Sedin have been held off the scoresheet in the previous two games and have combined for just three points - no goals - in their last four contests.

The Blackhawks are hoping to stabilize their inconsistent defense.

Over the previous six games, Chicago has surrendered five-plus goals on four occasions. The club posted shutouts in the other two contests.

Despite two shorthanded goals from Rene Bourque on Thursday, the Blackhawks suffered a 7-4 setback to the Dallas Stars.
