Devils look to snap three-game skid

TORONTO (Ticker) - The New Jersey Devils hope to avoid a fourth straight loss when they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

New Jersey is 0-2-1 in its last three games after a 2-1 setback at Montreal on Saturday. The Devils, who enjoyed a five-game winning streak before the skid, have scored just two goals in their last three games.

Brian Gionta tallied the lone goal for New Jersey in Saturday's loss, while leading scorer Zach Parise was held without a point for the fourth straight game. The left wing had scored a goal in five straight contests previous to the recent drought.

The Maple Leafs have won four of their last five to crawl over the .500 mark for the first time since they were 14-13-7 on December 18.

Mats Sundin had a goal and two assists in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Washington and has registered a point in five straight games - posting five goals and four assists over that span. The Toronto captain leads the team with 29 goals and 70 points on the season.

New Jersey has won the first two meetings with Toronto this season, with both wins coming at home.
