Iginla looks to become Flames' all-time leader in goals

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) - Jarome Iginla is one goal away from becoming the top goal scorer in the history of the Calgary Flames.

Iginla will attempt to surpass Theo Fleury as the franchise's all-time leader in goals when the Flames kickoff a three-game homestand with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

Made the 11th overall pick by Dallas in 1995, the 30-year-old Iginla has 364 career goals in 844 games over 10 NHL seasons - all with Calgary.

Iginla scored two goals and set up another in Saturday's 3-1 triumph over the Phoenix Coyotes. He now has a team-leading 40 goals on the season, reaching the plateau for the third time in his career.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are concluding their three-game road trip through Western Canada.

After defeating the Vancouver Canucks in overtime Friday, the Blue Jackets suffered a 4-3 shootout loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday. Rick Nash scored his team-leading 35th goal of the season in the defeat.

Nikolai Zherdev had two assists Sunday to register a career-high 55 points on the season. He is just one point behind Nash for the team lead.
