Flames place F Frolik on IR, recall F Mangiapane

Dec 31, 2017 - 5:53 PM The Calgary Flames placed Michael Frolik on injured reserve and recalled fellow forward Andrew Mangiapane from the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

Frolik exited Thursday's game against the San Jose Sharks after taking a puck to the jaw. The 29-year-old, who had surgery Saturday, has collected seven goals and eight assists in 37 games this season.

Mangiapane has team highs in goals (14) and points (33) in 29 games with Stockton. The 21-year-old Ontario native was selected by Calgary in the sixth round of the 2015 NHL draft.
