Instead of heading to the bench for a change, Giordano instead crept in off the point and took a pass from Mikael Backlund before snapping a shot into the top corner over the blocker of Chicago G Jeff Glass 52 second into the extra session. The blast gave the Flames a thrilling 4-3 win.

Giordano earlier recorded an assist.
