Thrashers seek fourth straight win vs. Senators

Nov 8, 2006 - 4:18 PM Ottawa (5-7-1) at Atlanta (11-3-3) 7:00 pm EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Thrashers got their season off to a good start, and are starting to look like the real deal.

Atlanta goes for its fourth consecutive win when it hosts the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday.

After defeating the Washington Capitals and the New York Islanders on the road, the Thrashers returned home and defeated the Boston Bruins, 5-3, on Monday.

Ilya Kovalchuk led Atlanta with three goals while Slava Kozlov had a goal and three assists and Marian Hossa added a goal and two assists.

While the Thrashers have been playing well, the opposite is true of Ottawa, which has lost four straight.

The latest defeat was in overtime, 4-3, to Washington on Monday. Daniel Alfredsson led the Senators with a goal and an assist and Dany Heatley and Antoine Vermette each netted goals.
