Nov 8, 2006 - 4:23 PM NY Rangers (7-6-1) at Florida (6-7-2) 7:30 pm EST

SUNRISE, Florida (Ticker) -- The last time the New York Rangers were on a road trip, they did well in going 3-1-0. They will look to repeat that success starting Wednesday.

After a single home game, the Rangers embark on a three-game southern road trip which opens with a game against the Florida Panthers.

New York is coming off a 4-3 home overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. Jaromir Jagr, Petr Prucha and Michael Nylander scored for the Rangers, who had a 3-1 lead in the second period but could not hold it.

Kevin Weekes got the start for the Rangers, but was not sharp in allowing four goals on 28 shots. The Rangers lost despite going 3-for-6 on the power play.

The Panthers have been struggling lately in going 1-2-1, although they are coming off a 4-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday.

Rostislav Olesz, Olli Jokinen and Joel Kwiatowski scored for Florida, which got 23 saves from Ed Belfour.
