Penguins return home to face Lightning

Nov 8, 2006 - 4:27 PM Tampa Bay (7-7-1) at Pittsburgh (7-4-1) 7:30 pm EST

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) - After a disappointing end to a four-game road trip, the surprising Pittsburgh Penguins return home.

Pittsburgh recorded two victories to start their recent trip, but finished it with two losses. Still off to a solid start, the Penguins return home on Wednesday to face the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Pittsburgh became another victim of the Anaheim Ducks, 3-2, in overtime on Monday, as the Ducks remained the only team in the league not to lose in regulation.

Dominic Moore and Chris Thorburn scored for the Penguins, who went a second straight game without a goal from Evgeni Malkin. However, Malkin did assist on Thorburn's tally.

The Lightning come off a 5-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Monday. Filip Kuba led the Lighting with two goals while Martin St. Louis and Andreas Karlsson each had a goal and an assist.

Johan Holmqvist made 25 saves and the Lightning converted on 3-of-5 power-play opportunities.
