Flames' Iginla looks to set record against Blues

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) - Captain Jarome Iginla will try for the third time to become the Calgary Flames' career goal-scoring leader when his team faces the St. Louis Blues on Monday.

After being denied in his last two games, Iginla remains tied with Theoren Fleury with 364 goals.

Calgary is 6-1-2 in its last nine games and is one point behind the Minnesota Wild (37-26-7) for first place in the Northwest Division.

The Flames have dominated the Blues lately, winning five consecutive home games while posting an 11-1-1 record in the last 13 contests against St. Louis. In his career, Iginla has 16 goals and 31 assists in 43 games against the Blues.

Calgary has scored only one goal in three of its last four games, including a 2-1 overtime loss at home to Nashville on Friday. The Flames are 0-for-10 with the man advantage in their last two games.

Finnish netminder Miikka Kiprusoff has a 1.86 goals-against average in winning his last eight starts against St. Louis.

The Blues are in the midst of a freefall, posting a 1-7-1 record in their last nine games. St. Louis has the second-fewest points in the Western Conference.

"This year we got off to a good start and just haven't done anything since January," All-Star goaltender Manny Legace said. "It's just frustrating."
