Sharks seeking 11th straight win

Mar 14, 2008 - 1:11 PM St Louis (29-30-11) at San Jose (41-21-8) 10:30 pm EDT

SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) - The San Jose Sharks are making at run at the top spot in the Western Conference. The St. Louis Blues are getting ready for next season.

The Sharks will take a franchise-record 10-game winning streak into Friday's game with the Blues.

San Jose is battling the Dallas Stars for first place in the Pacific Division and both teams are still trying to catch the Detroit Red Wings, who have virtually sewn up first in the Western Conference with 100 points.

San Jose is an NHL-best 25-8-3 on the road, but is only 16-13-5 at home. Nonetheless, the Sharks have won the only two home games they've played since February 15.

Goaltender Evgeni Nabokov has been nothing short of spectacular all season for San Jose, posting a 40-20-7 record with a 2.17 goals-against average.

The Blues have lost four consecutive games and 10 of their last 11, including Tuesday's 4-3 loss at Edmonton.

Friday's game will conclude the four-game series. The Sharks have won all three previous meetings by a combined score of 7-1 with a pair of shutouts.
