Oilers end long trip against Avalanche
Nov 13, 2006 - 3:56 PM Edmonton (8-8-1) at Colorado (7-7-2) 9:00 pm ESTDENVER (Ticker) -- It has been a long road trip for the Edmonton Oilers, and they look to end it on a positive note when they tangle with the Colorado Avalanche on Monday.
The trip has not gone the way Edmonton had hoped, as it is 1-2-1, the lone win coming over the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-1, on Friday.
The Oilers lost to the St. Louis Blues, 5-3, on Sunday. Brad Winchester scored twice while Fernando Pasani had the other goal for the Oilers, who outshot the Blues, 33-30. Colorado has not been that great lately either, losing three of its last four.
The Avalanche dropped a tough 1-0 game to the Nashville Predators on Saturday. Colorado outshot the Predators, 42-31, but went 0-for-6 on the power play.
Colorado netminder Jose Theodore made 30 saves on Saturday. Despite the strong outing, Theodore has not been sharp this season, going 5-4-1 with a 3.20 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage.
No one has shouted yet.
