Streaking Sharks look for fifth straight win

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The San Jose Sharks have been playing great hockey lately, and it is a good thing for them.

The Sharks, who have to keep playing well in order to keep pace with the high-flying Anaheim Ducks, face the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.

San Jose trails the first-place Ducks by by two points in the highly competitive Pacific Division and leads the third-place Dallas Stars by only two points.

The Sharks latest triumph was a 2-1 road victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday. Patrick Marleau scored the game-winning goal at 10:34 of the second period for San Jose.

Evgeni Nabokov started for the Sharks and made 13 saves before leaving the game with a neck injury after the first period. Vesa Toskala came in a stopped all 25 shots he faced.

The Kings, who are just 2-6-3 in their last 11, come off a 3-2 shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. Anzi Kopitar and Dustin Brown scored for the Kings in the shootout while Mattias Norstrom and Michael Cammalleri scored in regulation.
