Blues, Boyes host Blue Jackets in home finale

ST. LOUIS (Ticker) - The St. Louis Blues look to close out the home portion of their disappointing season on a positive note Saturday when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Blues, who have not lost to the Blue Jackets in St. Louis this season, will finish the regular season as the 14th-place team in the Western Conference, despite making a pair of significant offseason acquisitions.

Though the club acquired Paul Kariya and Keith Tkachuk, St. Louis possessed one of the least potent offensive attacks in the NHL this season.

The biggest positive was the play of Brad Boyes, who led the club with a career-high 41 goals. Tkachuk is second on the team with 24 tallies and no other has player scored more than 16 goals.

Columbus, mired in a three-game skid, has received 38 goals from captain Rick Nash and 26 from Nikolai Zherdev, though the club has the fewest goals in the NHL.

Both teams will conclude their seasons with a rematch in Columbus on Sunday.
