Stars search for pre-playoff boost vs. Sharks

DALLAS (Ticker) -- While both the Dallas Stars and San Jose Sharks are headed for the playoffs, the former is hardly playing like one.

The Stars and Sharks conclude their regular seasons when the Pacific Division rivals meet Sunday.

San Jose has already clinched the league's second-best record behind Detroit (53-21-7) while Dallas has locked up the fifth seed in the Western Conference.

Even after their 4-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday, the Sharks are rolling into the postseason. The loss was to the Kings was the team's first in regulation in 21 games (18-1-2).

Meanwhile, Dallas is just 3-8-2 since March 1 and has dropped four straight at home. The latest setback came in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes.

Marty Turco, who turned away 17 shots in taking the loss, has won twice since the start of March after collecting nine wins alone in February.
