Predators hope for more offense against Red Wings

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) - The league's best defensive team has been up to par through its first two games of the playoffs.

The Detroit Red Wings look to put the Nashville Predators in a big hole when the teams meet in Game Three of their series on Monday.

Dominik Hasek has made 44 saves as the Red Wings have allowed just three goals in the first two games of the series. He made made 25 saves - including 15 in the first period - of Saturday's 4-2 victory in Game Two.

"When you're the top seed, the first one is the hardest to get and once you get it, you have to get Game Two or they have all the momentum going home," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "It was a huge game for us and a huge game for Dom."

The Predators have gone 1-for-9 on the power play through the first two games and are trying to avoid a 3-0 series deficit.

"Yeah, it's an uphill battle, no question," Nashville center Jason Arnott said. "We just have to stay positive, keep going forward. We're going back home and we know the fans will be loud for us. Hopefully that will give us a little extra boost and we can win the next game."

Jordin Tootoo has scored twice in both games for Nashville, including the tying goal at the 2:30 mark of the second period on Saturday.

Kris Draper tallied the go-ahead goal with 15 minutes to play in the second period and Tomas Holmstrom had a tally and an assist in the win.
