Rangers look to build on momentum against Hurricanes
Nov 15, 2006 - 4:18 PM NY Rangers (10-6-1) at Carolina (9-7-3) 7:00 pm ESTRALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The New York Rangers look to build on their 90 second offensive output when they face the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday.
The Rangers scored three goals in 90 seconds to open the third period to solidify a 3-2 come from behind victory over the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday.
New York, down by two goals to start the final session, got two tallies from Jaromir Jagr and another by Brendan Shanahan despite being shutdown by goaltender Martin Brodeur for the first two periods.
Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was brilliant in the final session stopping all 10 shots he faced. He finished with 20 saves.
The Hurricanes Rod Brind'Amour had a goal and an assist in a 7-4 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. Goaltender Cam Ward make 27 saves.
The loss to Buffalo snapped a two-game win streak for Carolina.
