Predators look to keep rolling against Blue Jackets

Nov 15, 2006 - 4:27 PM Nashville (10-4-1) at Columbus (5-9-1) 7:00 pm EST

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- The Nashville Predators have very quietly become a major player in the Western Conference, and one reason is their ability to win on the road.

Nashville is a strong 7-3-1 on the road this season and have only played five times at home, the fewest amount of home games played in the league.

The Predators look to continue their road prowess when they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday.

Columbus made a coaching change on Tuesday when it fired Gerard Gallant and replaced him with interim coach Gary Agnew after the Blue Jackets got off to a poor start.

Columbus, which has lost three of four, tries to rebound from a 1-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

The Blue Jackets actually outshot the Hawks, 28-19, but could not beat Chicago goaltender Brian Boucher.

Nashville comes off a 1-0 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. Scottie Upshall scored the only goal of the game at 9:35 of the first period. Chris Mason stopped a whopping 42 shots to record the shutout.
