Lightning go for fifth victory in six games

Nov 15, 2006 - 4:30 PM Montreal (9-4-3) at Tampa Bay (9-7-1) 7:00 pm EST

TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- After a shaky start, the Tampa Bay Lightning have been playing great hockey lately.

The Lightning go for their fifth victory in their last six games when they host the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday.

A reason for Tampa Bay's recent success is the offense, which has produced 24 goals in the last five games. The Lightning only scored 12 goals in their first six games, but have 47 in their last 11.

The game is the second of a three-game homestand for the Lightning, who defeated the Atlanta Thrashers, 5-4, on Saturday.

Martin St. Louis had two assists to extend his points streak to 11 games while Vincent Lecavalier scored a goal to extend his streak to 11 games.

Montreal has won two of its last three, the latest a 6-3 triumph over the Ottawa Senators on Monday.

Guillaume Latendresse led the Canadiens with two goals while Radek Bonk, Mike Johnson, Mike Komisarek and Alexei Kovalev scored the other Montreal goals.
