Stars look to end slide against Thrashers
Nov 17, 2006 - 2:51 PM Dallas (12-5-0) at Atlanta (12-5-3) 7:30 pm ESTATLANTA (Ticker) - The Dallas Stars look to avoid a fourth loss in five games when they visit the Atlanta Thrashers on Friday.
Dallas' latest loss was a 3-0 decision to the New York Islanders on Wednesday. The Stars peppered the Islanders with 35 shots but could not beat New York goaltender Rick DiPietro.
Marty Turco made 19 saves for the Stars, who have scored only three goals in their last four games.
The Thrashers also have struggled lately, losing their last two games after winning three straight.
Atlanta tries to rebound from a 5-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. Marian Hossa scored two goals while Steve Rucchin added a single tally.
Hossa leads the NHL in goals (15) and points (30). Atlanta teammate Ilya Kovalchuk is tied for second in goals (14).
