Coyotes go for third straight victory

Nov 18, 2006 - 5:21 PM Phoenix (6-12-0) at Los Angeles (6-11-4) 4:00 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- It has taken the Phoenix Coyotes all season to record back-to-back victories.

The Coyotes now go for three straight when they play the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. However, Phoenix has only won one of its last 13 games in Los Angeles.

Phoenix recorded a 3-2 shootout victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday. Yanic Perreault and Mike Zigomanis scored in regulation for the Coyotes before Perreault and Ladislav Nagy both tallied in the shootout.

Phoenix netminder Curtis Joseph was sharp in the net, finishing with 32 saves. The 39-year-old has been disappointing so far for the Coyotes, who have surrendered a Western Conference-high 71 goals.

The Kings try to rebound from a disappointing 4-3 loss to the lowly Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.

Los Angeles had a 3-1 lead midway through the third period, but allowed three goals in a span of 3:10 to fall behind.

Alexander Frolov and Brian Willsie scored for Los Angeles, which went scoreless in four power-play opportunities.
