Wild return home to host Avalanche
Nov 18, 2006 - 5:50 PM Colorado (8-9-2) at Minnesota (12-6-0) 8:00 pm ESTST. PAUL, Minnesota (Ticker) - Coming off an emotional victory, the Minnesota Wild face the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.
On Thursday, the Wild forged a three-gaol comeback in a 7-6 victory over Nashville in a shootout.
Pavol Demitra, Petteri Nummelin scored in the shootout for Minnesota before Brian Rolston scored the shootout winner.
With the Wild trailing, 6-3, late in the second period, Stephane Veilleux, scored with under a minute left in the second period before Demitra and Brent Burns scored in the third period to tie the game.
The Avalanche snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-0 victory over Columbus on Friday. The win opened a three-game road trip for Colorado, which visits Dallas on Monday to conclude the trek.
Peter Budaj, making only his sixth start of the season, was sharp in stopping 25 shots to record his third career shutout.
Paul Stastny, Ossi Vaananen and Marek Svatos scored the goals for the Avalanche, who went 1-for-4 on the power play.
