Penguins look to get back in win column, face Rangers
Nov 18, 2006 - 6:02 PM NY Rangers (10-8-1) at Pittsburgh (8-7-2) 7:30 pm ESTPITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins look to get back to winning ways with a strong showing against the New York Rangers on Saturday.
The Penguins lost to the Buffalo Sabres, 4-2, on Friday and have lost six of their last seven contests.
Sidney Crosby scored both goals for Pittsburgh, who went 0-for-6 on the power play. Goaltender Jocelyn Thibault stopped 31 shots in the loss.
The Rangers dropped a 2-1 decision to the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday.
Jaromir Jagr scored a power-play goal on a pass from Brendan Shanahan in the second period. It was Jagr's 559th career goal. Goaltender Kevin Weekes made 22 saves.
New York was 1-for-4 on the power play Wednesday and is 22-for-107 (20.6 percent) this season.
