Flames visit Oilers in search of seventh straight win

Nov 21, 2006 - 2:00 PM Calgary (9-7-2) at Edmonton (11-8-1) 9:00 pm EST

EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) - Miikka Kiprusoff has been unbeatable of late, but he may have to take his game to another level to best Dwayne Roloson and the Edmonton Oilers.

Kiprusoff and the Calgary Flames aim for their seventh straight win Tuesday when they visit the reigning Western Conference champion Oilers.

Last season's Vezina Trophy winner, Kiprusoff has bounced back from a poor start to carry Calgary through its six-game winning streak, posting a .966 save percentage while yielding a total of just six goals over that stretch.

Kiprusoff was especially dominant in Friday's 4-1 victory over the high-powered Detroit Red Wings, turning aside 29 shots while helping Calgary kill 4-of-5 penalties.

Kristian Huselius had a goal and an assist while Alex Tanguay registered a pair of assists for the Flames, who went 3-for-5 on the power play.

Calgary has not visited Edmonton since Opening Night, when Roloson made 31 saves to lead the Oilers to a 3-1 triumph.

Roloson has won each of his last four starts, yielding a total of seven tallies while posting a .946 save percentage. The veteran netminder made 38 saves in Edmonton's 4-3 shootout victory over Detroit on Saturday.

Raffi Torres and Joffrey Lupul both had a goal and an assist Saturday for the Oilers, who have won four of their last five.
