Nov 22, 2006 - 2:32 PM Atlanta (12-7-3) at Washington (8-6-6) 7:00 pm EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) - The Washington Capitals try to end a three-game losing skid when they host the Atlanta Thrashers on Wednesday.

Two of Washington's defeats came in overtime, the latest being Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Boston Bruins.

Jakub Klepis and Alexander Ovechkin scored for the Capitals, who were outshot, 38-29, and allowed two Bruins power-play goals.

The Thrashers also have been struggling of late, losing their last four games. Atlanta's latest was a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.

The Thrashers peppered Montreal goaltender Cristobal Huet with 40 shots but only beat him once, when Glen Metropolit scored an unassisted goal at 3:30 of the second period.

Johan Hedberg recorded 30 saves for Atlanta, which was blanked in six power-play opportunities.
