Red Wings look to snap rare losing streak
Nov 22, 2006 - 2:39 PM Vancouver (10-10-1) at Detroit (12-5-2) 7:30 pm ESTDETROIT (Ticker) - The Detroit Red Wings try to break a rare losing streak when they host the Vancouver Canucks on Friday.
The Red Wings, who have dropped two straight, try to rebound from a 4-3 shootout loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.
Detroit trailed, 3-2, late in the third period but Jiri Hudler tied the game with just four seconds left. Kris Draper and Danny Markov scored the other goals for the Red Wings, who outshot the Oilers, 41-21.
The Canucks have won two straight games after dropping four of their previous five.
Vancouver edged the Chicago Blackhawks, 2-1, on Sunday. Markus Naslund scored his 10th goal of the season while Josh Green netted his first as the Canucks overcame a brilliant 37-save performance from Chicago netminder Nikolai Khabilulin.
Vancouver outshot Chicago, 39-22, and held the Blackhawks scoreless in five power-play opportunities.
