Lightning look to rebound after a disastrous loss
Nov 22, 2006 - 2:41 PM Tampa Bay (10-10-1) at Florida (8-10-4) 7:30 pm ESTSUNRISE, Florida (Ticker) - The Tampa Bay Lightning conclude a three-game road trip when they visit the Florida Panthers on Wednesday.
The trip has been a disaster so far for Tampa Bay, which lost, 4-1, to the New York Rangers on Sunday before getting blasted by the Buffalo Sabres, 7-2, on Monday.
Martin St. Louis had two goals on Monday for the Lightning, who surrendered seven goals in the second period. Marc Denis took all of the punishment, surrendering the seven tallies on only 29 shots.
Florida has not been so great lately either, dropping three of its last five. However, the Panthers did get in a win in their last game, a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Monday.
Alex Auld was sharp in stopping 29 shots while Martin Gelinas, Nathan Horton and Joe Nieuwendyk scored for the Panthers, who were 2-for-7 on the power play.
Florida hosts the Ottawa Senators on Friday before embarking on a three-game road trip.
No one has shouted yet.
