Hurricanes look to rebound from bad loss
Nov 22, 2006 - 2:49 PM Carolina (12-8-3) at NY Islanders (9-7-3) 7:30 pm ESTUNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) - The Carolina Hurricanes were rolling along nicely until they met the New York Rangers.
The Hurricanes were blanked by the Rangers on Tuesday, 4-0, and look to rebound when they tangle with the New York Islanders on Wednesday in the second of a three-game road trip.
Carolina fired 34 shots at Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist but could not beat him. The Hurricanes also failed in four power-play opportunities.
The Islanders are coming off a 4-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday.
Jason Blake scored his 11th goal of the season while Chris Simon only netted his second. Rick DiPietro made 29 saves for the Islanders, who allowed Toronto two power-play tallies in six attempts.
