Anaheim looks for third straight victory
Nov 22, 2006 - 2:55 PM Anaheim (15-2-5) at Colorado (9-10-2) 9:00 pm ESTDENVER (Ticker) - The Anaheim Ducks go for their third straight victory when they visit the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.
The Western Conference-leading Ducks are coming off an impressive 5-0 blanking of the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.
Teemu Selanne led the Ducks with two goals, which gave him 499 for his career. Francois Beauchemin, defenseman Chris Pronger and Ryan Getzlaf scored the other goals for Anaheim, which rebounded nicely from two straight losses with wins over the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose.
The Avalanche had their two-game winning streak snapped in a 5-4 loss to the Dallas Stars on Monday. Marek Svatos scored twice while Milan Hedjuk and John-Michael Liles got the other Colorado tallies.
Colorado goaltender Peter Budaj had a tough game, allowing five goals on 31 shots. The Avalanche were outshot, 31-23, but did convert on 2-of-4 power-play opportunities.
