Devils look to keep rolling on west coast trip
Nov 22, 2006 - 2:59 PM New Jersey (12-6-1) at Phoenix (6-14-0) 9:00 pm ESTGLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) - The New Jersey Devils look to keep on rolling when they travel to Phoenix to take on the Coyotes on Wednesday.
The Devils, who have won six of their last seven games, open a four-game Western Conference swing against the Coyotes.
New Jersey is coming off a tough 2-1 road victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. Martin Brodeur made 33 saves and Jamie Langenbrunner scored in his fourth straight game.
The Coyotes, who started 4-12-0, have been better lately, going 2-2-0 in their last four. However, they have lost their last two, the latest a 6-4 setback to the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday.
Curtis Joseph again struggled in allowing five goals on 29 shots. Ed Jovanovski, Yanic Perreault, Georges Laraque and Mike Zigomanis scored for Phoenix.
The Coyotes surrendered two power-play goals but converted 3-for-4 chances with the extra skater.
