Flames look to start new streak vs. Blackhawks

Nov 22, 2006 - 3:02 PM Chicago (7-10-2) at Calgary (9-8-2) 9:30 pm EST

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) - The Calgary Flames look to return to their winning ways Wednesday when they host the Chicago Blackhawks.

Calgary had a six-game winning streak snapped Tuesday in a 2-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

Kristian Huselius scored Calgary's lone goal off a setup from Chuck Kobasew at 9:46 of the first period.

Flames netminder Miikka Kiprusoff made a rare error when he allowed a fat rebound, which Petr Sykora swooped in on and backhanded into the net for the game-winner at 13:57 of the third period.

The Blackhawks are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday despite the outstanding work of Nikolai Khabibulin.

Khabibulin recorded 37 saves and Tuomo Ruutu scored the lone goal for the Blackhawks, who are 1-1-1 on their five-game road trip.

Chicago, which was badly outshot, 38-23, went 0-for-5 on the power play.
