Stars look to continue dominance of Kings
Nov 24, 2006 - 4:04 PM Los Angeles (7-12-4) at Dallas (15-6-0) 8:30 pm ESTDALLAS (Ticker) -- Brenden Morrow and the Dallas Stars have had their way with the Los Angeles Kings this season. But the Dallas captain may not get a chance to continue his mastery of the division rival.
The Stars hope to have Morrow back in the lineup Friday when they host the Kings in the fourth meeting this season between the Pacific Division foes.
The reigning division champion, Dallas has won all three of its games against Los Angeles this season, outscoring the Kings by an 11-4 margin in those contests.
Dallas' leading scorer, Morrow has been a huge part of that success, recording three goals and an assist in the three victories.
But Morrow is nursing an injured groin which kept him out of the lineup in the Stars' 1-0 triumph over the Nashville Predators on Wednesday. He is listed as day-to-day.
Rookie goaltender Mike Smith made 17 saves to record his second shutout of the season while Jeff Halpern scored the lone goal for Dallas, which has won three of its last four.
Los Angeles looks to rebound from Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the San Jose Sharks.
Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky scored a goal while Derek Armstrong recorded two assists for the Kings, who have not beaten the Stars since April 1.
No one has shouted yet.
