Canadiens seek fourth straight win
Nov 25, 2006 - 3:30 PM Philadelphia (6-14-3) at Montreal (13-5-3) 7:00 pm ESTMONTREAL (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens aim for their fourth consecutive victory when they host the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
Defenseman Sheldon Souray scored with one second remaining in overtime to lift the Canadiens over the Buffalo Sabres, 2-1, on Friday.
Saku Koivu scored the other goal for Montreal, which was 0-for-2 on the power play and held Buffalo scoreless in six attempts with the extra skater.
The Flyers come off a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday. Philadelphia beat former coach Ken Hitchcock, who was fired by the Flyers last month and hired by the Blue Jackets on Wednesday.
Peter Forsberg, Freddy Meyer and Mike Richards scored for the Flyers, who were outshot, 41-22. Richards' tally was his first of the season.
Antero Niittymaki was sharp in goal for Philadelphia, stopping 29 shots, to help it break a three-game losing streak.
