Ducks, Maple Leafs searching for win
Oct 21, 2008 - 12:23 PM Anaheim (1-5-0) at Toronto (1-2-2) 7:00 p.m. EDTTORONTO (Ticker) -- The Anaheim Ducks are still searching for an answer to their early season struggles.
The Ducks try to earn their second win of the season when they begin a four-game road trip against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
After dropping its first four games, Anaheim finally managed to claim a victory on Friday with a 4-0 win against the previously unbeaten San Jose Sharks. The Ducks failed to build on that momentum, however, suffering a 3-1 setback against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday.
Anaheim is coming off its first two 100-point seasons in franchise history, but have had difficulty finding the back of the net in 2008-09. The Ducks have just 13 goals through six games and are a league-worst 1-for-24 on the power play.
The Maple Leafs are enduring a dismal stretch of their own as they enter Tuesday's contest winless in their last four games.
