High-octane Sharks face Panthers

SUNRISE, Florida (Ticker) -- The San Jose Sharks are having no problem finding the back of the net thus far this season.

The Sharks look to continue their early-season surge on Friday when they visit the Florida Panthers.

San Jose enters the contest after completing a rare cross-country, home-and-home sweep of the winless Philadelphia Flyers. The Sharks scored 12 goals during the two games, needing overtime and a shootout to forge the victories.

Tied with the St. Louis Blues (25) for second-most goals this season, San Jose registered at least three tallies in all but two games this season.

"We've been scoring all over the place," said Sharks center Joe Pavelski, who ranks second on the team with three goals. "Every line is scoring goals, and that is what kind of wins you games."

The Sharks' offense will face a Florida team which is ranked 15th in the league, surrendering an average of three goals per game.

Tomas Vokoun has alternated losses and wins in five starts this season, posting a 2.77 goals-against average and .908 save percentage. Backup Craig Anderson earned a win in his only start, but won't be in net against San Jose after allowing 11 goals en route to losing each of his three previous outings against the Sharks.
