Bruins continue road trip at Canucks
Oct 28, 2008 - 1:33 PM Boston (4-2-3) at Vancouver (4-4-0), 10:00 p.m. EDTVANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- The Boston Bruins go for their third straight victory when they make a rare visit to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.
While the Bruins have yet to prove whether they are a contender in the Eastern Conference this season, the club has shown that their games will come down to the final whistle.
Seven of the nine contests Boston has played in has been decided by one goal, with the other two games being decided by two goals.
Dennis Wideman scored a power-play goal in overtime on Tuesday as Boston won back-to-back games for the first time this season with a 1-0 triumph at the Edmonton Oilers on Monday. Tim Thomas made 27 saves for his eighth career shutout.
The Canucks will be playing in just their third home game of the season and are coming off a 6-3 victory over the Oilers on Saturday.
The victory comes off the heels of a six-game road trip for Vancouver, which has not hosted Boston since it won, 5-2, on December 4, 2005.
Center Ryan Kesler leads the club with nine points and the 24-year-old has registered a point in five straight games.
