Kings look for repeat performance vs. Blues
Nov 8, 2008 - 3:10 PM St. Louis (5-6-1) at Los Angeles (4-6-2) 10:30 ESTLOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Kings will look to top the St. Louis Blues for the second time in just over two weeks when the teams meet on Saturday.
After a 4-0 triumph that saw four different players tally, the Kings dropped five straight games, four of which came on their current seven-game homestand.
Brian Boyle and Anthony Stewart scored their first goals of the season and the Kings held on for a 3-2 win Thursday against the Florida Panthers.
In the previous matchup between the Western Conference foes, Blues goaltender Manny Legace suffered a left hip flexor injury after he fell on a piece of carpet in place for then vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. He has returned to practice, but has been out of action since.
St. Louis opened the season with wins in four of its first five contests, but has fallen on hard times, dropping six of seven and four straight.
The defense has been virtually non-existent for the Blues, allowing 16 goals in their last three games.
