Blue Jackets look to build on first victory in nine games
Nov 28, 2006 - 3:13 PM Columbus (6-14-2) at Vancouver (11-12-1) 10:00 pm ESTVANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets earned their first victory under new coach Ken Hitchcock last Saturday after losing their previous eight contests.
The Blue Jackets try to build on that win when they visit the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.
Sergei Fedorov had two goals and two assists to lead the Blue Jackets to a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.
Anson Carter collected a goal and two assists while Nikolai Zherdev added a tally and an assist to help match Columbus' high in goals this season.
Vancouver defenseman Kevin Bieksa had a goal in a 4-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche last Sunday. Goaltender Roberto Luongo stopped 35 shots for the Canucks.
Vancouver has been outscored, 10-1, in its last two games.
