The Lighting attempted a season-high 50 shots vs. the Capitals but were thwarted 48 times by Washington goaltender Olaf Kolzig.

Lightning netminder Johan Holmqvist has won eight of his last 10 games but surrendered three goals on 13 shots in the loss to the Capitals and was pulled in favor of Marc Denis.

Boston has won seven of nine, including a 4-1 triumph at Toronto on Tuesday in which Tim Thomas made a season-high 45 saves.

The Lightning have a pair of one-goal losses to the Bruins this season and are 1-5-1 in the past seven meetings.
